How to Make Narezushi

History

Narezushi arrived in Japan from Southeast Asia around the 8th century as a fish preservation method. The fermented rice was initially thrown away, only the fish eaten. Over centuries, Japanese began eating the rice too, eventually leading to fresh sushi when rice vinegar replaced fermentation.

Instructions

  1. Prepare fish
