How to Make Apple cider

Instructions
Sanitize equipment

Prepare cider
If using a Campden tablet to kill wild yeast, crush and add it to the cider 24 hours before pitching your yeast. If using pasteurized cider without preservatives, you can skip the tablet and proceed immediately.

Add yeast

Primary fermentation

Condition and Bottle
Crucial: Use a hydrometer to ensure fermentation is complete (Specific Gravity should be 1.005 or lower and stable for 3 days). Siphon into sanitized bottles. For carbonation, add exactly 2 grams of priming sugar per 500ml bottle. Seal tightly.

Tip: WARNING: Bottling before fermentation is finished, or adding too much priming sugar, can create 'bottle bombs' (exploding glass). Always use a hydrometer.
